Kimihiro Watanuki on xxxHolic's Wiki because this is CLAMP.
Watanuki's lore spans across two, almost three four if you count Blood-C/the Blood series, but I leave it out of this Watanuki's lore for now, if taking some inspiration from Watanuki's personality there-; five if you count Drug & Drop {formerly "Gouhou [Legal] Drug"} entire CLAMP canons so it's essential to at least read the 1st xxxHolic manga's story pre-continuations, or at least have awareness of xxxHolic's own anime, to be able to understand Watanuki's wider character outside Tsubasa even minimally.
However, the manga far outpaced the anime when it came to some ending resolutions the manga began setting up/heavily implying.

As of current canon point, Watanuki has already somewhat 'long' become the Shopkeeper.

However, Watanuki's personality is overall closer to how it was before Watanuki "turned" into the Shopkeeper, thus Watanuki isn't nearly as mature-presenting yet, but Watanuki has been changing in mentality along the way, realizing very slowly there's a lot more Watanuki can do now to keep self {and others} safe now that Watanuki is the Shopkeeper. However, Watanuki is also rather resistant to using a lot of the abilities Watanuki supposedly "has" now, especially if they're the energy-draining sort.

Watanuki's strongest goal right now is to live for as long as Watanuki can possibly manage.
The other strongest goal is to "continue" long enough to be able to find a way Yuuko Ichihara can return/live.

Threadjacking: Yes, but if something extremely significant that can affect/hurt Watanuki is to happen, maybe better to poke me and ask first. Watanuki is very skilled, having started to learn combat-style magical abilities and won't initially "go easy" on any character that seriously tries to instigate Watanuki into a fight - Watanuki's presence is too important to numerous worlds to allow self to go down without a serious fight. Watanuki can easily take on more "average" citizens/worldhoppers but if your character is the all-powerful kind, they might be able to knock Watanuki down a notch or two with some planning. However, once Watanuki goes serious, Watanuki can be pretty ruthless...!!

Mind Reading: Yes, on request/ask me; contacting by Dreamwidth messages is ok too. However, with Watanuki this will be a lot more Particular, specifically because Watanuki's had a lot of mind-manipulation type plots semi-canonically before (including with Fei Wong Reed trying to mess with younger!Watanuki's head upon Watanuki's creation, to the point Yuuko's own self had to interfere to keep Watanuki safe from harm. Watanuki's also in the past been heavily manipulated by the Spider Lady in various ways in the different versions of the canon, especially the movie's canon, though this Watanuki is more specifically from the manga). Watanuki is from the Manga, where it doesn't quite happen the exact same ways, but Watanuki was still actively engaged in basically trying to Keep Spirits from Wanting/Stealing Watanuki's Eyes/Presence/Soul, soooo there is all That to consider when plotting things like this!
Touching: Yes, but Watanuki may instinctively recoil from/fight most touches if Watanuki's not familiar with you at first, unless you prove yourself to be genuinely friendly and/or respectful of Watanuki. But feel free to chip away at Watanuki's barriers! Watanuki may be a little more receptive to touch (including initiating it) the more Watanuki gets to know your character if Watanuki genuinely cares about them. There's a high preference for genuinely kind/cute girls. Men are on extremely thin ice overall but like, you might have more of a chance (especially men close in age but moreso on the lightly older than Watanuki end).
Shipping/Kissing: Please contact me privately to ask first, especially regarding kissing or surprise kisses. In Watanuki's canon point brought from, Watanuki was currently getting over a longtime crush on/deep love for childhood friend Himawari Kunogi, so that will often be on Watanuki's mind should anything serious happen. OOCly, I can be flexible with crossover ships, but it's definitely better if I know your canon/character well, especially as Watanuki is something like "Ageless"/frozen as of the age Watanuki was upon gaining the shop despite being hundreds of years older in personality, so please ask me!
Personally, my highest preferences for shipping are sticking to Doumeki/Watanuki being heavily implied from Watanuki's end even as mutually unrequited; the same goes for Watanuki/Zashiki-warashi on both their ends. Watanuki/Himawari I also consider mutually unrequited but with Himawari more gently rejecting Watanuki over the years, but still caring for Watanuki as best as Himawari can from afar. Watanuki/Yuuko I'd consider on a case-by-case basis but even if it did come from Watanuki's side, as of the current canon point it's pretty "impossible" that Watanuki and Yuuko could ever truly be together outside of Dreamwidth RP messing with their timelines. Ask me privately about anything else?
Fighting/Injury: Please contact me privately to ask/plot first! Watanuki is definitely good at self-defense where necessary, however, and will automatically respond if instigated into a fight, again usually in self-defense first before all-out attack. If Watanuki is attacked seriously, however, and can no longer maintain on self-defense alone, Watanuki can and WILL go in for full-on attacking with an intent to either kill {if in a truly dangerous situation} or seriously harm/knock out {otherwise}.
Character Death: Please contact me privately to ask/plot before assuming I'd be ok with in-game death. If we can plot something out, and everyone's on the same page, I'm definitely much more flexible with this. Watanuki, however, will absolutely hate it and fight it every step of the way. That said, Watanuki is probably "the most likely to die" {again} at least once in-game out of all my characters currently.
